How to Share files or folder in Windows 8

Share files or folder
To enable Folder sharing follow the below steps

Computer should be in the same Workgroup name

Step 1: Click start, Win 8 menu will appear

Step 2: Enter computer on the Search field and press [Enter] key.

Step 3: Right-click on Computer and select Properties.

Step 4: Select Change advanced system settings.

Step 5: Select Computer Name and click Change button.

Step 6: Enter a  Computer name and should be your WORKGROUP for ex:(myhome, sales etc)name then click OK.

Step 7: You will be prompted to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.  Click OK

Allowing Computer discovery over network

Step 1: Click Start -> Control Panel or Left Click Nework Icon in system tray tab (where you will check time and date option) -> click open network sharing center

Step 2: Network Sharing Center window opens -> on left hand side click change advance sharing setting.

Step 3: click on for  : Network Discovery, File and Printer Sharing

Step 4: Click off for : Password Protected Sharing

Allowing Simple File Sharing Option

Step 1: Open My Computer -> on top menu clikc organize -> click on folder option or Press ALT key Menu bar appears click on tool -> folder option

Step 2: Folder Option Window appears -> click second tab (View Tab) -> scroll down unless you find Use Sharing Wizard this is should clicked.


and now you are good to go to share your folder between Windows 8 computer…..
